MANGALURU: Halasahalli in Malavalli taluk of Mandya district recorded maximum rainfall of 9.5mm in Karnataka in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on November 17. Belthangady hobli in Belthangady taluk of Dakshina Kannada district recorded maximum temperature of 39.6°C on November 16 at 3.15pm. Betageri hobli in Gadag taluk of Gadag district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 12.5°C from 6.45am to 7am on November 17.

Maximum temperature rose at few places over Karnataka and changed little over remaining parts of the state. Minimum temperature fell at many places over north interior Karnataka and changed little over remaining parts of the state. More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 48% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 1% geographical area in the state.
Rainfall over the state is considered as negligible. Moderate rain was recorded in one gram panchayat; light rain in two gram panchayats (GPs); very light rain in 30 GPs; and no rain in remaining 1,909 GPs.
Karnataka for period from November 11 to November 17 recorded surplus rainfall of 130%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 9.3mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 21.4mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on November 17, four geographical regions received 0.1mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 1.7mm, a 97% deficit departure from normal.
