Gujarat to announce Industrial,other policies soon:Saurabh Patel

Senior minister and chairperson of organizing the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015, Shri Saurabh Patel while speaking to pre-Vibrant summit road show in Mumbai today said that Gujarat will soon come out with its new industrial policy.

Shri Patel said that in new industrial policy, special emphasis will be given for value edition of raw material produced in Gujarat.

“We are going to come out with our industrial policy, special emphasis will be given to raw materials which are being produced in the state of Gujarat for value edition. For example plastics. Most of the polymers are produced in the state. So we want to give special emphasis for conversion of those polymers into plastic,” Patel said.

“Also we are going to come out with a specific policy for labor intensive units,” the minister said.

He said the state also wants to focus on Small Scale Industries that generate good employment opportunities.

He said the state is willing to grant approvals on case to case basis also for units that involve high engineering or are labour intensive.

Patel mentioned recently announced IT, E-Governance and Electronics policies. He said the state came out with a textile policy for conversion of cotton to garment by adding value edition. He added that it has been one of the most successful policies, attracting huge investment.

Saurabh Patel said the state is revenue surplus and power surplus with political stability and best power infrastructure including power transmission facilities.
