Several talented actresses are making a comeback in Kollywood and the latest to join the bandwagon is Sridevi, who will be seen in Chimbu Devan?s next, starring Vijay and Sudeep. Though she?s made her Bollywood comeback with English Vinglish, the star will be seen in a full-length Tamil film after a gap of 28 years. We list actresses who are set to rock the TV and film industries again?
Jyotika in How Old Are You Remake
When Jyotika announced her comeback, there was a lot of excitement in the industry.
Rightly so, as the actress has delivered several hits before calling it a day. Jyotika will be seen in the Tamil remake of the Malayalam film, How Old Are You, which incidentally marked the comeback of actress Manju Warrier in Mollywood. Though she had several offers coming her way, Jyotika opted for this project as it has a social message.
Gauthami in Papanasam
She was so busy that she had to keep shuttling between various film industries at one time. Post her divorce, Gauthami took a break from films. It was at this time she also had to battle breast cancer. Kamal Haasan, a well-wisher and friend, decided to stand by her during this time and the couple decided on a live-in relationship post that. After several years, she will now be making a comeback with this film, opposite Kamal.

Amala in Uyir Mei
After a gap of 23 years, Amala recently made her comeback in a Tamil project. Though not a film, she?s presently acting in a tele-serial, Uyir Mei. The actress, who is ecstatic about her comeback, is happy shooting for a TV soap that has a message. In an earlier interview to Chennai Times, she said, ?Films take a lot of time. Since, I am held up with different things, it will get difficult for me. I am happy doing TV soaps.?
Sreya Reddy in Andaava Kaanom
After giving a stellar performance in Kanchivaram, VJ-turned-actress Sreya Reddy is back to film business after a five-year sabbatical. She will be seen in Andaava Kaanom, a rural subject that is being directed by Vadivel, a former associate of director Suseenthiran. Sreya plays the title character in the film which has a simple storyline.
Madhoo in Vaayai Moodi Pesavum
Madhoo was at the peak of her career when she bid goodbye to films. After her wedding, she took up small roles in Hindi films which were ideal for her. After a gap of 17 years, when she wanted to do a full-fledged film, she chose Balaji Mohan?s Vaayai Moodi Pesavum. Presently, she is filming for two films ? one each in Kannada and Malayalam.
