Coffman’s cheap shot took out Ravens assistant Tony Coaxum

Tony Coaxum

Earlier today, Jay Glazer of FOX showed video of Titans tight end Chase Coffman taking out a member of the Ravens coaching staff on the sideline of last Sunday’s game between Tennessee and Baltimore.

Per a league source, the member of the staff taken out was assistant special-teams coach Tony Coaxum.

A 2000 graduate of West Point, Coaxum spent seven years working on the Army coaching staff. Earlier this year, Ravens coach John Harbaugh hired Coaxum to work with special-team coordinator Jerry Rosburg. Coaxum technically is serving an internship with the Ravens; he has had internships in the past with the Giants and Buccaneers.

So, basically, two days before Veteran’s Day, Coffman applied a blatant cheap shot to a veteran who wasn’t wearing a football uniform. Classy.
