Special pujas performed

Special pujas and yagams were performed by All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam functionaries at the Immayilum Nanmai Tharuvar Temple here on Saturday for the return of the party general secretary Jayalalithaa as Chief Minister.

An ‘108’ sumangali puja, aswamedha yaga, ‘108’ gomatha puja and gaja puja were also performed. Twenty seven Sivacharyas performed a maha yagam as well. A host of AIADMK functionaries, including Minister for Cooperation ‘Sellur’ K. Raju, Mayor V.V. Rajan Chellappa, Deputy Mayor K. Thiraviam and MLAs Sundararajan and A.K. Bose participated in the pujas. A ‘Maha Chandi Homam’ was also organised at the Subramaniaswamy Temple in Tirupparankundram by Mr. Rajan Chellappa.
