Say no to drugs, tobacco, says Sachin Tendulkar after adopting Nellore village

Nellore: Bharata Ratna and Rajya Sabha MP Sachin Tendulkar called upon the residents of Puttamrajuvari Kandriga village, which he adopted under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yozna scheme, to keep away from smoking, drinking and gambling.

The master blaster received a warm welcome, when he visited the village located in Gudur mandal of SPSR Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday morning.

He appealed for the cooperation of the villagers to set an example for the country and make it a model village.

Sachin also advocated the need to empower the girl child and put an end to female foeticide.

Former Cricketer Chamundeswari Nadh was present at the venue with Tendulkar.
