PALANPUR : A group of six persons armed with sticks and stones allegedly attacked a ginning mill owner and his family members when they were asleep near Himmatnagar in Sabarkantha district on Friday. After the assault, they decamped with valuables and cash worth Rs 5.85 lakh. Ramesh Patel lodged a case with the police on Saturday alleging that the accused were 25 to 30 years of age.tnn
The accused entered the house carrying sticks and stones.
They went upstairs where his wife and other family members were sleeping. Hearing them scream, he rushed upstairs and was attacked. He was beaten till he fainted. "The accused broke the safe and took away valuables worth Rs 4.95 lakh besides Rs 90,000," said sub-inspector G V Gohil of Himmatnagar (rural) police station.
