Prayer leaders’ role for stable society sought

Islamabad - A three-month long training course for Aima (prayer leaders) and scholars of Armed Forces arranged by Dawah Academy of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIU) concluded here on Saturday.
Addressing the concluding ceremony, IIUI President Dr Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh said, “Dawah Academy is playing a vital role for dissemination of Islam’s message and its courses of training for important professionals such as prayer leaders are significant as they can play important role in building a harmonious and stable society.” The course, attended by 45 scholars, introduced the participants with various vital contemporary and religious topics. The scholars were also taught computer technology, said a press release. Dr Al-Draiweesh urged Ulema to guide the society to resolve their problems in accordance with the teachings of Islam. Mosques have important place in the Islamic society as these are the places which are an omen of unity and training of youth, he added. He said the Ulema should teach the youth to negate extremism and violence and urge the young minds to explore Islam’s message of peace and work for dissemination of brotherhood and tranquility. Dr Al-Draiweesh hoped that Dawah Academy would continue its efforts of training and such programmes would be continued.
Earlier, Zaheerud Din Behra, while presenting the detailed report of the course, apprised that the participants were provided a home like environment while visits to the important places were also arranged.
Deputy Director General Dawah Academy Dr Imtiaz Zafar, course coordinator, Dr Zaheerud Din Behram were also present in the concluding ceremony.
At the end, shields and completion certificates were awarded to the participants by the IIUI president.
