NAGPUR: Anjuman High School played aggressively in the divisional football tournament to book their first U-17 state berth in the SGFI football tournament. The state meet will be played under the aegis of School Games Federation of India.
Riding high on Mohammad Ikram's attacking foray that saw him score a hat-trick, the divisional U-17 boys' title clash remained a one-sided affair. Representing Nagpur City, Anjuman High School, blanked Nagpur Rural's Tuli Public School 4-0 in the finals to bring home the crown.

Within 12 minutes of the kick-off, Ikram scored three quick-fire goals and surprised Tuli players with his attacking forays. After opening the account of his team in the 4th minute, Ikram doubled the lead four minutes later while made it 3-0 in the 12th minute. Mohammad Azhar joined the goal-scoring party three minutes later as Anjuman players defended well thereafter to record a four-goal rout.
Earlier in the semifinals, Anjuman blanked Gadchiroli 2-0 with Mohammad Azhar and Rizwan Ahmad scoring a goal apiece.
On the earlier occasions too Anjuman School qualified for the state meet but in different age-categories and this will be for the first time they will take part in the U-17 event. The state meet is scheduled to be played at Wardha from November 14 to 17.
