High-flying snatchers nabbed
NEW DELHI: Police have arrested two snatchers who not only had a unique modus operandi of dual painted bikes to confuse their victims, but also flew between Patna and Delhi every couple of months to commit their crimes. The duo has been identified as Manish and Sonu. They fled to Bihar after the crimes and led a luxurious lifestyle.
A trap was laid near DDA flats in Paschim Vihar to nab the criminals.
Soon the men arrived in a luxury car and parked it along the road. After being caught, they tried to mislead the cops but later admitted to the crime during questioning.
The duo said they used to paint bikes in dual tones so that the victims wouldn’t remember the exact colour and leave them in parking lots to confuse the cops. After the snatching, the men would blow a high-pressure horn fitted on the bikes to muffle the victim’s calls for help.
Sonu is a resident of Rithala in outer Delhi and has studied up to Class X. His father had to leave his job due to a heart problem and his family had to spend a lot on his treatment. When they became debt-ridden, Sonu fell in bad company and started committing crimes.
