Vikhroli man, 57, hangs himself
The body of a 57-year-old man was found hanging in his house in Vikhroli around 1 pm. The victim, Dattatrey Parab, resided in the Godrej Colony and was due to retire in a year’s time from Godrej & Boyce, police said, adding that no suicide note has been found.
The Vikhroli police said that it appeared a case of suicide, even as the victim’s family said it had no idea as to what bothered him. “Parab’s wife was out attending a funeral and their son was at work. The body was found by a neighbour who entered the house to hand over lunch, police said.
“We have registered a case of accidental death. The victim’s family said that they are completely clueless as to why he took such step. We will speak with his colleagues to know whether he was having problems at work,” Senior Inspector Dinesh Desai said.
