Soldiers of Slovenia and the United States will hold a joint military exercise, code-named "Rock Proof 3" next week, a military spokesperson said on Friday.

The scheduled joint training will take place in Postojna, about 50 km southwest of Ljubljana, with the 1st Brigade of the Slovenian Armed Forces and the United States' 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team.

About 260 U.S. troops, based in Vicenza, Italy, will arrive at the Baron Andrej Cehovin Army Barracks when the five-day military exercise begins on Monday.

The upcoming military drill, the fourth of its kind in 2014, follows on the heels of an 11-nation military exercise code-named "Immediate Response 2014" in August. Enditem
