LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Katy Perry was feeling "very Lolita" on Thursday and decided to share a picture. The 30-year-old singer took to Twitter to post a photo of herself posing on a bed in black lingerie and her hair in two knots.

While suggestive, Perry's photo comes as no surprise to her fans who are likely familiar with the singer's "obsession" with Lolita, a character in Vladimir Nabokov's controversial 1955 novel about a man who becomes sexually involved with his 12-year-old stepdaughter, Dolores.
The "Firework" singer spoke of her fascination with Lolita in a 2008 post on her Buzznet blog.
"I have studied her every move, braided my hair like hers, tried to find jumpers like hers and high waisted shorts," she wrote .To this woman...lolita/Dominique I owe my career practically."
Perry is currently in the midst of her Prismatic World Tour which will come to an end March 22 in Sweden.
