They face the camera at a young age, and it’s there that the foundations of their careers start. Of course later they become the big stars we love and cherish so much. Filmfare brings you child actors who are now an integral part of the showbiz industry.

Alia

Alia Bhatt
The prettiest girl in B-town isn’t new to showbiz. Believe it not, Alia Bhatt was first seen in her father Mahesh Bhatt’s Sangharsh in the year 1999 when she was just 6 years old. Those chubby cheeks in Sangharsh were a definite surprise. Today Alia seems to have turned the podgy tables around. She’s certainly the actress we like to call fit as a fiddle. Good going, girl!

Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan

It’s a well known fact that Aamir Khan was born to act. Aamir made his debut as child artist in Yaadon Ki Baarat. He played the role of young Tariq in the film. He later went on to make his full-fledged debut as an actor in Ketan Mehta’s Holi. Today, the cutest boy in town has evolved into an acting legend. He deserves the epithet of Mr Perfectionist. No wonder this perennial sweetheart is one of the most sought after actors in the industry.

Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik Roshan
Born into a film family Hrithik Roshan's tryst with films goes back to the early ’80s. He made his first silver screen appearance as a child artiste in films like Aap Ke Deewane and Bhagwan Dada. And in 2000 he made an epic debut as a leading man in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. He has played a range of characters in his career. He was also India's first superhero in Krrish. Like they say, big things have small beginnings.

Imran Khan

Imran Khan

Bollywood's heartthrob Imran Khan played young Aamir Khan in 1992 film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander. 16 years later he made his Bollywood debut in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and became b-town’s favourite chocolate boy. From playing a boy next door to being a rustic village boy, the actor has experimented with his looks and characters on screen. Imran has truly come a long, long way following in Mamu Aamir’s footsteps.

Urmilla Matondkar

Urmilla Matondkar

Urmila Matondkar made her debut as a child artiste in Masoom. As a leading lady the actress has some memorable performances in Rangeela, Ek Hasina Thi and Kaun. The cute and loveable young girl transformed into sizzling siren. Urmila is one of the sexiest actresses in Hindi cinema ever. Cine buffs and her fans alike are itching for her to return to the big screen.

Kunal Kemmu

Kunal Kemmu
Kunal Kemmu was the toast of tinsel town during his days as a child actor. His performances in Raja Hindustani, Zakhm and Hum Hai Rahi Pyaar Ke were outstanding. Soothsayers knew he was a star of the future. No wonders then that his Bollywood debut as a leading actor in Kalyug won him rave reviews. His subsequent efforts haven’t been as impressive, but we have faith in young Kunal. His best is surely yet to come.

Jugal Hansraj

Jugal Hansraj
The Mohabattein actor was first seen in 1983 in Shekha Kapur's Masoom. The grey-eyed boy won everyone's hearts and it was obvious that this child actor will be someone to watch out for. In 2001 Jugal was signed by Aditya Chopra in his college romance Mohabbatein. Jugal also directed a film in 2010, Pyaar Impossible starring Priyanka Chopra and Uday Chopra.

Shahid

Shahid Kapoor and Ayesha Takia
These talented actors were first seen in the Complan ad. Shahid Kapoor's floppy hair and Ayesha's bright eyes are worth a watch even today. While Shahid Kapoor made his debut in 2003 with Ishq Vishk, Ayesha Takia made her debut in 2004 in Tarzan: The Wonder Car. Later they even starred together in Dil Maange More. Must say the energy drink surely invested great actors.
