Body of missing man found in canal

PUNE: The body of a 28-year-old man, who was missing since Monday evening from Hingne on Sinhagad Road, was found in a canal at Swargate on Thursday afternoon.
Police have identified the deceased as Tanaji Baburao Akhade, a resident of Anandvihar in Hingne, and have booked three persons in connection with the case.
Deepak Nikam, senior inspector at the Swargate police station, said Akhade had left his house around 6.30pm on Monday for Sasoon hospital to meet his ailing brother-in-law.“When Akhade did not return till late in the night, his family searched for him and found his motorcycle abandoned near a canal in Vitthalwadi along with the motorcycle keys and his slippers. They lodged a missing person’s complaint with the police. We found his body later. His limbs were tied with rope ,” he said.
