Tinsel Town: Vadivelu magic back on the big screen soon

November 14, 2014 01:57 am | Updated 01:57 am IST - CHENNAI:

Just as we were wondering about what comedian Vadivelu was up to, news floated up on Friday, in the online space, about a possible collaboration between him and Kumki star Vikram Prabhu.

Rumours doing the rounds cast him as the comedian and the younger star as the hero in a film directed by Kumarappa, who has formerly worked as director Ezhil’s assistant.

However, sources close to Vadivelu told The Hindu that while talks were on about a film with Vikram Prabhu, nothing had been finalised as yet.

“We should know by this time, next month, whether the film is on, but at the moment, it is premature to say so,” the source said.

Viewers will soon see the comedian in an appropriate role in the Rajinikanth-starrer Lingaa .

He’s also shooting for another period film, directed by Tuba Raj, who made Tenali Raman , in which Vadivelu played a dual role. The film, titled Eli (rat), will be set in the 70s, sources said.

Fans of the comedian-hero who set great store by his timing and body language cannot wait to see him again on the big screen, with the kind of stellar performance they saw in Chandramukhi , again with the ‘Superstar’.
