Attention diversion case: man loses Rs. 4.5 lakh

November 14, 2014 01:15 am | Updated 01:15 am IST - Bengaluru:

Unidentified men diverted the attention of a petrol bunk owner and made away with Rs. 4.45 lakh, near Vijipura Cross in Devanahalli police limits on Thursday.

The victim, Ranjith, a resident of Karahalli, had withdrawn the cash from Bank of India around 1.30 pm. He kept it in the front passenger seat of his car and was about to leave the place when a man called out to him. The stranger told him that some money had fallen on the road. Ranjith got out to check. Once he was back in the car, he realised that the cash was missing.

A passerby told Ranjith that he saw a man running away with his bag. Ranjith filed a complaint.

This is the third such incident this week. The others took place in Magadi Road and Marathahalli.
