Decorations and gifts for Thanksgiving and the holidays will be available at the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum's annual Gift and Wreath Sale on Saturday and Sunday, November 22 and 23. The sale will be held at the Arboretum's Horticulture Building from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
The annual sale will feature living succulent wreaths and gardens, dried flower wreaths, gourd art, and more created by Arboretum volunteers and local artists. Most items are one of a kind and many are made using the Arboretum's plants.
Norrie's Holiday Open House will be held during the store's normal business hours, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on both days. Norrie's will feature many new items purchased with holiday shoppers in mind, including ceramics, jewelry, scarves, books, toys, and garden art. Shoppers will be able to sample locally produced hot chocolate and delicious broths, which will be available for purchase.
Norrie's will also feature author David Casterson who wrote and illustrated In the Company of Redwoods, a unique book highlighting 50 plants found in coastal redwood forests. Casterson will be available to autograph books purchased at Norrie's from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on November 22 and 23.
Arboretum members receive a 10 percent discount at Norrie's. This discount does not apply to purchases made at the Gift and Wreath Sale.
