JAMMU, Nov 12: JKP XI, ICC and Simula Cricket Club registered emphatic wins in the ongoing 3rd Eid-Diwali Milan T20 Cricket Cup, played at Gulshan Ground, here today.
The Tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu-Kathua Range, while Rajesh Gill, former Ranji trophy player is the organizing secretary.
Earlier, in the first match, JKP XI defeated Sai Cricket Club by 6 wickets. Batting first, Sai Club scored 141 runs in the allotted 18 overs for loss of 7 wickets, with Rohit (48), Suman (26) and Chotu (24) being the main scorers. Rajesh Gill took 3 wickets, Shamsher Singh Manhas bagged took 2, while Vishwajeet and Vishal shared 1 wicket each for JKP XI.
JKP XI, in reply chased the target in 15.5 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Farooq top scored with 46 runs, while Rompy and Jatin contributed 30 and 23 runs respectively. Sunny, Chotu, Vinay and Varinder shared 2 wickets each. Farooq was declared man of the match for his good knock.
In the second match, ICC scripted a comfortable win over Atman Cricket Club.
Batting first, Atman Club made 169 runs in the allotted 18 overs for loss of 6 wickets with Ritesh (45), Hitanshu (30) and Manpreet (28) being the main scorers. Vinu took 2 wickets, while Ankush and Arjun shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, ICC Club achieved the target in 17.4 overs for the loss of 5 wickets to win the match by 5 wickets. Atul made 51 runs, while Amit and Ankush contributed 41 and 29 runs respectively. Ritesh and Ricky took 2 wickets each. Amit was declared man of the match.
Another match played between Simula Cricket Club and Akhnoor Club.
Batting first, Simula Cricket Club scored 172 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Dhruv Mahajan scored 50 runs, while Atul and Deepak contributed 28 and 21 runs respectively. Sham took 2 wickets while Sonu and Binny shared a wicket each.
Akhnoor XI could not achieve the target and scored 134 runs for the loss of wickets, thus lost the match by 38 runs.
Sunil Sharma was the main scorer with 52 runs, while Sagar scored 23 runs. Soumay Jain was pick of the bowlers, who took 4 important wickets, whereas Sameer Khajuria and Mohit Puri took 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Dhruv Mahajan was declared man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Sunil Sambyal, Sandeep Manchanda, Suhail Yusuf, Abhijot Bedi, Shahrukh and Yogesh.
In tomorrow’s fixture, RCC Srinagar will face KC Sports Club at 8 am, JKP XI will take on Aircel Club at 11am and Simula XI will meet Rehari Cricket Club at 1pm.
