Chanathip strike lifts Thailand

Chanathip Songkrasin scored in the second half to give Thailand a 1-0 win in their second warm-up match for the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup later this month.

The diminutive playmaker struck in the 71st minute to give head coach Kiatisak Senamuang a satisfying result against League One champions Nakhon Ratchasima FC at His Majesty the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary stadium in Nakhon Ratchasima last night.

Thailand defeated the Philippines 3-0 in the first warm-up match on Sunday. They will play their third and final warm-up match against New Zealand next Tuesday.

Three-time champions Thailand have been drawn in Group B alongside four-time champions and co-hosts Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar.

They will begin the campaign against Singapore on Nov 23, then Malaysia on Nov 26 and Myanmar on Nov 29.

Co-hosts Vietnam are in Group A alongside the Philippines, Indonesia and Laos.

Meanwhile Kiatisak will lead the team of former Thai national players against Liverpool legends on Monday at Rajamangala National Stadium.

The team of Liverpool legends, including the likes of Ian Rush, Robbie Fowler, Steve McManaman and Jerzy Dudek, will take on Thailand's Dream Team, led by Kiatisak in the Country Group Thailand and Liverpool Master Football Tour 2014.
