The new Volvo V60 Cross Country

Jaguar's all-wheel-drive F-TYPE makes its public debut at the LA motor show later in the month. The all-wheel-drive will be on coupe and convertible versions.

McLaren's new 'Sports Series' range is to be revealed towards the middle of next year.

The sub-650S models will rival the Porsche 911, Audi R8 and Ferrari California T.

Expect coupé, Spider and track-focused versions - each one will get its own special name.

Production versions of the mid-engined P13 will embody a modified 650S carbon-fibre composite chassis.

It is also expected that a tweaked version of the Ricardo-built twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 will be used.

Land Rover recently announced a series of updates for the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. They include an option of a new All Terrain Progress Control system - a cruise control function for off-road driving.

They say they have improved the 3-litre, 6cyl TDV6 and SDV6 engines.

The TDV6 has a single instead of the old twin-turbocharger; power stays at 281bhp. They claim fuel consumption has improved by 8.5pc with CO2 emissions of 182g/km.

The Sport's SDV6 is up 14bhp to 302bhp with fuel consumption claimed to be 7pc better and emissions of 185g/kqm.

Volvo's new muscular Cross Country version of the V60 is expected to go on sale in the summer.

It has been raised by 65mm, has high-profile tyres, front/rear skid plates, bumper extenders and lower body cladding.

It will be powered by diesel engines that include the entry-level D3 and a new 179bhp 2-litre 4cyl D4 with front or all-wheel drive.
