OPP have charged a Machar Township man for driving while disqualified, after losing his licence in court earlier that same day.
On Thursday October 30 at approximately 9:15 in the evening, the Almaguin Highlands OPP were called regarding a vehicle in a ditch.
When police arrived, they discovered a Dodge Journey stuck in the ditch, and that the driver had been in Sundridge Criminal Court earlier that day and had lost his licence after being convicted of impaired driving.
OPP arrested and charged Vern Markam, 35 of Machar Township with obstructing a peace officer and driving while disqualified.
Markam was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sundridge on Thursday December 11.
