Chain snatchers target citizens in Vadodara
VADODARA: Kuldeepsinh Solanki, a resident of Karelibaug, filed a complaint of loot at the Fatehgunj police station on Saturday night. According to Solanki, his wife’s gold chain worth Rs 45,000 was snatched by unidentified persons near Kailashpati Mahadev temple on Saturday evening. Two unidentified persons approached her on a motorbike and the pillion rider snatched the chain before they fled from the spot.
The city has been witnessing several incidents of chain snatching over last few months. Manjalpur resident Manjari Shukla filed a complaint on November 6 against an unidentified person of snatching her gold chain worth Rs 85,000. According to the 70-year-old complainant, she was walking back home from the Mahadev temple in Manjalpur when she was looted. The accused approached Shukla on a motorcycle and snatched the chain from her neck around 6 pm on Wednesday evening.
On November 02, Shakuntala Rao, a resident of Shiv Bunglows on New VIP Road, Karelibaug, filed a complaint of loot at the city police station on Sunday morning. Rao in her complaint said two persons who had covered their faces using cloth, snatched her gold chain worth Rs 25,000 early. Rao was on her way to buy milk from outside her society.
