PALANPUR : Stalking and harassment over a mobile phone led to a 19-year-old nurse ending her life by consuming poisonous tablets at a hospital in Mehsana on Friday.
Sources said that Payal Patel committed suicide at the Lions Club Hospital where she was employed. Her brother Kirit Patel told the police that some unidentified youths had been stalking and harassing his sister from two separate mobile phones.

He said that Payal used to remain very upset for the last several days. She had also told her father Govind Patel about her ordeal and he had approached the police on the matter on Sunday. He had alleged that his daughter was facing harassment and threats from the accused.
"On Friday, Payal came to duty as per her schedule from her home in Belol village near Mehsana. But after some time, she felt giddy and lost consciousness. Despite our best efforts we could not save her," said medical officer of the hospital Rakesh Patwa.
