Cash-for-CLU case: Panwar deposes against former CPS Bhayana
CHANDIGARH: BJP MLA Krishan Lal Panwar on Saturday reiterated his allegations against former chief parliamentary secretary Vinod Bhayana in the cash-for-CLU (change of land use) case while deposing before the additional director general of police V Kamaraj. Panwar stated that charges leveled against Bhayana were true and he would provide relevant evidence related to the matter.
Investigations into the cash-for-CLU sting case are taking place in the New Police Lines campus in Panchkula. ADGP Kamaraj is heading the special investigation team probing charges against five ex-MLAs of the Congress on the directions of the Haryana lokayukta Justice (retd) Pritam Pal.
The video footage of the sting operation, released by INLD in September 2013, had shown Bhayana allegedly demanding Rs 2.5 crore in lieu of the permission for CLU for four acres land in Gurgaon. He was among five Congress leaders - others being former health minister Narender Singh, MLAs Jarnail Singh, Ram Niwas Ghorella and Naresh Selwal - who were allegedly caught on camera negotiating for CLU permission in return for money.
It was followed by lodging of complaints by INLD MLAs. Panwar was in INLD then. He had joined BJP just before the Haryana assembly elections as he was denied INLD ticket from Israna.
