Nordin Amrabat kept his cool to slot home a 90th-minute penalty winner as Malaga fought back from a goal down to beat Eibar 2-1 and extend their winning streak to five matches.

Mikel Arruabarrena's 42nd-minute strike following a defensive mistake put visiting Eibar ahead but Malaga levelled at the start of the second half through Juanmi.

The home side then took the lead when Amrabat netted his last-gasp spot-kick after Raul Navas had handled in the box - with the centre-back being shown a second yellow card in the process.

There was not enough time left after that for Eibar to find an equaliser as Malaga held on to add to their wins over Granada, Cordoba, Rayo Vallecano and Real Sociedad - their best run since 2011.

It was a deserved victory for Javi Gracia's men, although they needed to overcome a half-time deficit to get the three points.

The hosts had the better of the early exchanges, Juanmi and Arthur Boka trying their luck without success, but it was top-flight newcomers Eibar who drew first blood when Arruabarrena made the most of a glaring error from Miguel Torres to net.

Torres should have cleared Ander Capa's right-wing cross but instead gifted the ball straight to Arruabarrena, who took a touch before drilling a low shot past Carlos Kameni.

Malaga were back on level terms eight minutes into the second half though, and on that occasion it was them who benefited from some good fortune in the area.

Samu's piledriver was straight at Eibar goalkeeper Xabier Irureta but he could only parry it straight back out to Juanmi, who slotted home to make it 1-1.

That was moments after Kameni had produced a fine save to deny Saul, and suddenly the momentum had shifted back to Malaga.

And it was the hosts who would end up claiming the spoils when Navas handled in the box - earning him an early bath and giving Amrabat the chance to slot past Irureta, which the Morocco international duly did.
