Plaque to fallen Britons is removed

Charles and Camilla unveil the commemorative plaque at the Fort of San Felipe, Cartagena

A plaque honouring 18th-century British seamen who died trying to capture a Colombian city has been removed just a week after it was inaugurated by the Prince of Wales.

Cartegena mayor Dionisio Velez took part in the unveiling ceremony last week, but later backtracked after nationalistic anger over the monument recalling the "valour and suffering" of the British forces.
