Warrant issued to principal who jumped bail
BENGALURU: It’s been more than 16 months since Paul Meekin, 40, sacked principal of Trio World School, jumped the bail and went missing in an alleged child abuse case.
He has been absconding since June 2013 after he walked out of jail. The first ACMM court has issued a non-bailable warrant against Paul. The hearing will come up on November 11.
“The warrant was issued on September 9, 2014 and there is no trace of the accused till now.
Chances of his flying out of the country are slim as we seized his passport soon after arresting him in February 2012,” DCP (North East) Vikas Kumar Vikas told TOI.
Police sources said the British embassy has been kept in the loop about the developments.
According to investigating officials, the persons who stood guarantee for Paul Meekin when a magistrate court granted bail in June 2013, have no idea about the fugitive British national. “His house at Kodigehalli has been locked and we questioned many of his friends, but in vain. It looks like he has not contacted anyone since coming out on bail in June 2013,” police said adding, “We shall interact with British embassy officials at the earliest,” police said.

Meekin was arrested in 2012:
The scandal broke out in January 2012, when the parents of a student of Trio World School in Kodigehalli, northeast Bengaluru, filed a complaint against the principal, accusing him of child abuse and passing lewd comments on a social networking site. Investigations also revealed that Meekin had taken a class V boy with him to Goa which the child's parents believed was a study trip. The school management, though, was in the dark about it. Once he was exposed, other boys too complained against him.
Meekin was arrested again in February 2012, after the school complained that his degree certificates had been forged.
