CROSSVILLE, Tenn. — James Mayberry, owner of Mayberry’s Furniture here and current president of TBG — The Buying Giant buying group, was elected mayor of Crossville during the recent mid-term election cycle.
Mayberry defeated incumbent J.H Graham III and will be sworn in Dec. 1, according to a report by the Crossville Chronicle. He told the paper he wants to increase cooperation between the city and county governments, improve job opportunities and look for ways to reduce spending. Crossville is in central Tennessee, about 70 miles west of Knoxville.
Member-owned TBG has about 235 members — including those from an alliance with the Mega Group USA buying group — with stores in 34 states.
