Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit proved to be a blessing in disguise for Kalyani Mishra, a housewife and native of Chowkaghat locality as he has assured all kind of help for the kidney transplant of her daughter.
“Now, my daughter will live,” said Kalyani, who met the PM at his local office, popularly known as ‘Mini PMO’ in Ravindrapuri colony on Friday afternoon.
“Pradhan Mantri ji ne ashwast kiya ki woh surgeon se khud baat karenge aur humari puri sahayata karenge” (PM assured me that he himself will talk to the surgeon treating my daughter, and extend all help), said Kalyani, whose daughter Rekha (36) has been ailing with kidney problem and needs immediate transplant. Rekha has been hospitalized at some hospital in Mumbai.
After addressing the gathering at Bada Lalpur and Jayapur village, PM went to his local office that came into existence in August last to meet some selected persons and know their problems. Like Kalyani there were 14 others, who got the opportunity to meet the PM and apprise him of their problems.
Godwari Singh, president of Khilona Udyog Sahkari Samiti, met the PM to apprise him of the problems being faced by the wooden toy industry. “He gave a patient hearing and assured all possible help for the revival of famous wooden toy industry of Banaras,” said Singh. Similarly, Rajvansh Jaiswal was there with his request for renovation of Machhodari Park. Rajendra Prasad Singh of Khewali village in Rohaniya area urged the PM for the development and renovation of village temple. “We are hopeful that the PM will fulfil his promises,” they said.
The office in-charge SS Pathak said that 15 persons, who had given their petition, were selected for the meeting with the PM. Mostly the problems were related to serious ailments, civic amenities and development, said Pathak.
The entire office was put in order in view of PM’s visit. He spent 55 minutes in the office that was inaugurated by BJP president Amit Shah on August 20. Elaborate security arrangements were made in the area and traffic was diverted to other routes. After meeting people, Modi left for Diesel Locomotive Works, where he addressed BJP workers.
