Two years after she made a comeback of sorts to cinema, Madhoo is happy with the kind of work coming her way. She has another schedule left for her Kannada film Ranna , a remake of the Telugu superhit Attarintiki Daredi , and has wrapped up work on her Telugu movie Surya Vs Surya , directed by Karthik. Both films are due for release in early 2015.
“It feels great to be part of author-backed roles and films where the entire team works to create something nice,” she says of the Sudeep-starrer Ranna .
As for Surya …, Madhoo (@madhoo69) tweeted: “…if u r open u can learn somethin new from sum1 new aftr yrs of being in the same business. My new young dir Karthik did tat4me.”
The film stars Nikhil as a person with different abilities and Madhoo plays his mother. “I’m terribly proud of this team; as proud as I am of my kids. They are so focussed, they have got their research right…,” she says, adding that the film is narrated with sensitivity. “I play a mother who is protective of her child, but also lets him be.”
Madhoo hopes to mark a date with Kollywood in 2015. “I am in talks for a really big project that has me all excited,” she says.
