Shivarajkumar's Belli cut by 13 minutes
Shivarajkumar's latest release Belli will be trimmer by 13 minutes from today. The film released last week and was 140 minutes long. The Mussanje Mahesh directed film is now shorter after audience feedback that some of the scenes were not effective due to their length. It is not uncommon for films to be trimmed after release. However, they have to go through the process of getting permission from the Censor Board even for deleting any scene.
Recently films like Ninnindale and Ulidavaru Kandante were trimmed after release. Ninnidale lost as much as 18 minutes while Ulidavaru Kandante lost 12 minutes.
There were some some exchange of words between Ulidavaru Kandante director Rakshit Shetty and producer Suni with the former accusing of trimming the film without informing the former.
But the real trouble was for the film Adyaksha. There were objections to a song in the film about Lord Krishna. The Censor Board, however, did not find anything wrong and allowed the song in full. However bowing to pressure from a caste group, a portion of the song was deleted.
