SULTANPUR LODHI (KAPURTHALA): Claiming that the SAD-BJP alliance was not only in Punjab's interest but also the nation's, Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal asked leaders of both the parties to refrain from issuing statements against each. Once again blaming the media for "creating rumours" of tug of war between both the parties he held that that the national BJP leadership would never severe ties with SAD, which was their oldest ally.

The CM was interacting with the mediapersons before presiding over a sports tournament on the occasion of Parkash Utsav of first Sikh master Guru Nanak Dev here on Thursday. Badal said that there was hardly any bone of contention between the two parties as the alliance had an inbuilt mechanism of solving all the issues amicably.
"Ever since the coalition was formed, the BJP has been a part of the state government and each and every decision has been taken by both the parties with mutual understanding. The BJP leadership is well aware of the fact that the SAD is their time-tested ally so there is hardly any question of parting ways," he said.
The Punjab CM claimed that since there was no issue of disagreement between both the alliance partners so all the "rumours" regarding the tug of war between the two were highly misleading and were merely a creation of the media.
"All is well between both the coalition partners and nothing has happened all of a sudden which can result in severing of ties. We have always solved every issue amicably and in future also all the matters will be sorted out in a smooth manner," the CM added.
