PLDT, FEU eye 3rd in Shakey’s V-L

PLDT Home Telpad and Far Eastern U shoot for third place in Game 2 of their respective best-of-three series in the Shakey’s V-League Season 11 Third Conference at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Turbo Boosters remain heavy favorites against the winless Meralco Power Boosters in the 4 p.m. women’s duel.

The Tamaraws try to continue their mastery of the Rizal Technological U Blue Thunder earlier at 2 p.m.

Drawing firepower from Suzanne Roces and Gretchel Soltones, the Turbo Boosters rallied to pull out a 25-21, 21-25, 20-25, 25-20, 15-11 victory over the Power Spikers last Tuesday.

The defeat was tough to swallow for the Power Spikers who finally got a big game from Abigail Marano.

Thai reinforcement Wanida Kotruang also dished out a solid outing, but her efforts weren’t enough to negate the 32 errors committed by the Power Spikers.

Still, PLDT coach Roger Gorayeb is bracing for a big comeback from Meralco, which is aching to win its first game in eight matches.

The Power Spikers are hoping that Maureen Penetrante and Stephanie Mercado would also step up to turn Meralco’s fortunes around.
