RAJKOT: A 20-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by coming under a train near P D Malviya College on Gondal Road on Monday night.
Rinkal Patel, a native of Anida-Bhalodi village in Rajkot district, was working as an accountant in a city-based firm. She was staying as a paying guest in a flat in Sundaram Apartment in Punitanagar.
Sources said that police received a call about a dead body lying near the railway track on Monday night.
On reaching the spot, they found a purse from near the body and identified the girl. They contacted her parents then.
Rinkal also left a suicide note in which she apologized to her parents and sister for taking the extreme step. She even stated that she was regretting committing suicide. Police have launched a probe to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Rinkal's parents told police that she had called up her father Mansukh Patel on Monday evening saying that she was coming to the village. Parents also told police that she did not have any problems at home.
Her father is a farmer in Anida-Bhalodi village.
