The anti-extortion cell of the Pune crime branch arrested Radhe Chuali Paswan (27) of Bihar on Thursday for allegedly attempting to sell 2.5kg charas worth Rs 5 lakh near Alankar talkies.

PUNE: The anti-extortion cell of the Pune crime branch arrested Radhe Chuali Paswan (27) of Bihar on Thursday for allegedly attempting to sell 2.5kg charas worth Rs 5 lakh near Alankar talkies.
Two others, Arvind Jain (35) of Mumbai and Sohanlal Jain (42) of Neral, were also arrested for allegedly trying to purchase the narcotic.
Constable Sachin Ahiwale had received a tip-off that Paswan would be selling the charas to prospective customers near the cinema hall.
A police team, led by senior inspector Anil Patil laid a trap and caught Paswan. The team took the trio into custody and seized the drugs.
A special court remanded the suspects in police custody till Nov 5. A case has been registered against the suspects under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act with the Bundgarden police station.
Assistant inspector Vitthal Shelar is conducting investigations to trace the source of the drugs.
