Rajaiah warns Medicos of use of go 1022

The striking Junior doctors are likely to face a severe action if the government implements its decision to clamp down on them with Essential Services Maintenance Act and debar them for continuing strike over a month. Deputy Chief Minister Dr T Rajaiah here on Tuesday warned that the government would take action against the Junior doctors if they failed to offer services in the rural areas.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Rajaiah, who holds Health portfolio said the government would not hesitate to make use of GO 1022 against the striking junior doctors. The GO prevents the junior doctors from staging protests, going on strike and abstaining from offering services to the poor at government hospitals and primary health centers, he said. Rajaih also said his son and daughter are doctors, who are willing to work in rural areas. The government would certainly take severe action if the junior doctors failed to resume duties, he warned.
