Manager defends fellaini

Louis van Gaal came to the defense of Marouane Fellaini after it appeared the Manchester United midfielder had spat at Manchester City's Sergio Aguero during Sunday's match at Eastlands.

During the course of a typically fiery clash between the local rivals, which Premier League champion City eventually won 1-0, Fellaini vented his anger at Aguero after the City striker appealed for a penalty toward the end of the first half.

Aguero went to ground after Fellaini kicked his leg but no spot kick was forthcoming.
