NAGPUR: For the student editors of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ajni, School Buzz proved to be an opportunity to do things they had not done before and a chance to get a peek into the world of journalism. "I enjoyed it a lot and would never forget the experience. This gave me a chance to actually become an editor," said Ritwick Jha, a student editor.
The students enjoyed working for Buzz so much that they wished they could do it again and again.
"If I could, I would go back in time to do this all over again," said Kabir Jangam, another student editor from the school.
In fact, the coordinator from the school, English teacher Prasanna Bhaskaran said, "There were so many children who wanted to participate. I think that students learnt a lot and were happy and that made me happy too," she said.
She was also of the opinion that the experience had boosted the confidence of students in many ways. "I was shy earlier, but now, after being one of the editors, it is a bit different. My confidence has increased and my communication skills have improved," said student editor Tanmay Bhanuse.
The parents too were very happy with the way their kids had worked. "It is good to see our children like this and I am proud to see that they have the ability to express themselves in a newspaper," said Chanda Jangam, mother of student editor Kabir.
"When Anjali came back from school after working for Buzz, she kept on talking about it for an entire day," said Madhuri Mankar, another parent. The parents also felt that the Buzz experience has shown that journalism can be a good career option.

"Children have got to know that this is at least an option," said Mukesh Jha, father of student editor Ritwick. Similarly, Archana Bhaladhare, mother of student editor Avani said, "I would like my daughter to pursue this as a career."
Principal Sunita Rai was glad that her students got a chance to prove themselves. "They showed that even government schools are very capable. I thought that they were creative and Buzz gave them a chance to bring out their hidden talents," she said.
For student editor Rashi Bhattacharyya and Anjali Mankar, Buzz was a lesson in team work and reporting. "I got to know how to write a balanced article," Rashi said. Similarly for student editor Avni Bhaladhare, it was time management and for her colleague in the editorial board, Nishchay Sonak, Buzz taught him the importance of being factually correct.
