PDP candidate launches poll campaign from migrant camps

JAMMU, Nov 2: Launching his poll campaign from migrant camps and non camp areas, PDP candidate from Kokernag constituency Abdul Rahim Rather addressed series of election meetings in Jammu today.
Mr Rather who was accompanied by PDP leader Abdul Salam Rishi, Ashok Sidha, president Minority Cell of the Party, Maharaj Krishan Bhat, (retd) Dy SP, D N Bhat, Nanaji Raina, Nana Ji Wattal and S K Raina Jawhar held meetings at Paloura, Muthi, Jagti, TRT quarters Nagrota and TRT Muthi and interacted with people there.
Addressing these meeting, Mr Rather appealed Kashmiri migrants to participate in these elections with full enthusiasm and cast their vote in favour of his Party which voiced the problems of displaced Pandits in every forum and tried to fulfill their aspirations.
He urged people to remain cautious in every mischievous design of parties like NC and Congress at this stage and said that the PDP is the only Party which can protect the interests and rights of Pandit community in the State. He assured the KPs that the Pandit shrines of Shiva Bhagwati, Chandi Mata and Swami Mirzakak in Kokernag constituency which were damaged during the turmoil period will be re-constructed.
He while expressing the hope that the Pandit Biradri will vote for him said that he will work for bridging the gap among communities, development as well as unity and integrity.
Addressing the meeting Abdul Salam Rishi cautioned the people against the enemies, disgruntled politicians who have launched a sustained misinformation campaign against the PDP and said these elements will not succeed in their designs as people are united and can’t be swayed by their hollow promises and empty slogans.
On the occasion, M K Bhat, Durga Nath Bhat, highlighted the problems of migrants especially those living in camps. They termed the Congress and NC as dreams sellers who have failed to settle the problems of displaced Pandits like implementation of employment package and passage of temples bill.
