Siddique ropes in Mammootty for Bhaskar the Rascal

After Ladies and Gentleman starring Mohanlal, filmmaker Siddique is all set to start his next project with another superstar in the lead — Mammootty. The project titled Bhaskar the Rascal will start rolling by mid-December. While the title seems to suggest a crime thriller or an action film, the director says there’s a lot more to his next.
“The upcoming project will be made in my signature style, with comedy, action and dance thrown in.All in all, you can call it a family entertainer. As of now, we have not decided on who will play the heroine. Harishree Ashokan and Janardhanan will also be a part of the project,” he says. The filmmaker has teamed up with Mammootty twice before, for Hitler and Chronic Bachelor. The duo is working together in a film after more than 10 years.
Meanwhile, Mammootty is awaiting the release of Varsham, directed by Ranjith Shankar. He is currently shooting for Deepu Karunakaran’s Fireman, after which he will join the set of Bhaskar the Rascal. Siddique is currently helming the TV comedy show Cinemaa Chirimaa, which features Malayali actors with a background in mimicry.
