The University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot, is conducting the third edition of ‘Bruhat Udyana Mela-2014’ from December 12 to 15 on its campus.
On the occasion, the university has decided to felicitate exceptional farmers with the ’Best Horticulture Farmer/Women Farmer’ awards. It carries a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 and a certificate.
Farmers who are practicing scientific technologies in their horticultural farms and involved in innovations, inventions and indigenous technologies are eligible for the award, according to Prakash B.G., dean of College of Horticulture, Mysuru.

The last date for submission of applications is November 11. A separate stall will be put up at the Bruhat Udyana Mela for farmers who have developed new varieties, practices, technologies, machinery and models for getting high yield in horticulture crops.
Farmers who wish to exhibit their produce/products and technologies can write to the Director of Extension, University of Horticultural Sciences, Udyanagiri, Hubballi Bypass Road (near Seemikeri Cross), Navanagar, Bagalkot-587103 (ph: 08354-201352) before December 1.
Among the technologies exhibited by farmers, one distinct and best technology will be selected for the ’Best Technical Inventor’ award.
