APTDC to organise Kartika Vanamahotsavam on Bhavani island
Vijayawada: Keeping the state government’s declaration of Kartika Vanamahotsavam as a state festival in view, the APTDC plans to organise it in a big way on the Bhavani Island on Sunday. The state government has declared the Vanamahotsavam as a state festival to promote planting of saplings in view of the massive damage to greenery in north coastal Andhra by the Cyclone Hudhud.
APTDC officials are making arrangements to attract people to Bhavani Island by organising various sports activities. The officials have announced an attractive tour package of Rs200 per head, which includes boating and lunch on the island.
Besides, sports and games have been planned. Various competitions and cultural programmes are also planned, which will be hosted by two anchors.In addition the officials are planning to take up plantation programme as per the government’s decision to improve greenery and create awareness among the people on environment protection.
