Street seen: Macquarie Fletcher

By Erin Munro

I AM IN Flinders Street, city.

Sartorial statement: Macquarie Fletcher also likes gabber fashion, which is from the '90s and it's like British techno and rave culture but more militant.

I AM the jack-of-all-trades at a record company, Remote Control. I'm training to be a publicist.

I AM WEARING a jumper from The Olmec, which is a local Melbourne label that's just started. It's one dude who's based out of Balaclava, and he puts stuff on the internet and it's all kind of cryptic – everything's supposed to be spooky and anime influenced. I like it because it sort of looks like uniform in a way, like a futuristic uniform from Akira or something. My jeans are Otto jeans from Fat, and my socks are from Utoepia. They have little cool alien dudes on them. The sneakers are Adidas, and I have a Crumpler backpack. I have five of these in every colour, they're $20 and super sick.

MY STYLE IS I'm mostly influenced by British lads, crossed with dads. Just in little, subtle ways.

I ADMIRE THE STYLE OF my friends mostly, and cool dads. That's a weird thing to say but I'm super influenced by dads in hats and dorky beachwear. I also like gabber fashion, which is from the '90s and it's like British techno and rave culture but more militant. I'm pretty influenced by new streetwear from LA as well.

MY FAVOURITE PLACE TO SHOP is Hand 2 Hand in Melbourne, which is a streetwear shop and it's run by one dude, it's really cool. Otherwise, just on the internet, but local labels on the internet, so people like The Olmec, and Unempire, and a bunch of stuff from Etsy.

MY BIGGEST FASHION MISTAKE WAS when I was younger, I went through a phase of wearing op shop suit pants for some reason. I think because I was into skating and they looked really good on boys, but they were really unflattering on my body.

WHEN I WAS A KID I was decked out in Osh Kosh, and my mum and auntie sewed a lot of stuff. Me and my brother would have really good gingham pants and heaps of colour.

I WOULD NEVER BE CAUGHT DEAD IN P.A.M.
