2014 CAC Games to cost Jamaica Olympic Association $45m

Vishu Tolan, the first vice-president of the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA) says it will cost about $45 million for the country to compete at the 22nd Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Veracruz, Mexico next month.
The JOA has named a contingent of 135 athletes and 48 officials for the November 14-30 Games.
The Games will feature 36 sports with Jamaica taking part in 14 disciplines.
Hockey, with 32 athletes – 16 women and 16 men – and six officials is the largest of the teams, which were announced today at the JOA office.
Jamaica will also participate in Badminton, Basketball Cycling, Fencing, Football, Rugby, Squash, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Track and field, Triathlon, Tennis and Beach Volleyball.
Jamaica will not be represented in swimming.
