BANGALORE: The state government has informed the Karnataka high court that all details such as district/taluk/FPS/ration card wise monthly lifting data transferred by e-PDS machines could be viewed by the general public with regard to Bangalore I R area,Mysore,Gulbarga, Belgaum, and Dharwad districts.
In a statement, K P Mohan Raj, commissioner for food and civil supplies has stated that as far as Chikmagalur and Tumkur districts, the data were available up to May 2014 and the data relating to subsequent period are not displayed due to technical problems.
""Therefore, the concerned vendor has been instructed to take necessary action to solve the problem"" the commissioner has stated.
Recording the said statement, a division bench headed by Justice K L Manjunath disposed off a PIL filed by D R Srinath and others .The bench has reserved the liberty to approach the authorities if the data is not available on the website of the department.
The petitioners had sought for restoration of ""Fair Price Shop-wise link card holders ration lifting status' in the official website of the department and also the district-wise, taluk wise, FPS wise and web pages wherein the ration card wise monthly lifting data transferred by the e-PDS machines could be viewed by general public etc.
The department has also denied the assertion that Fair Price Shop-wise link card holders ration lifting status has been completely remove from the official website of the department.
