Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea are sounding out a move for Spanish international Gerard Pique.

The 27 year-old spent four years at Old Trafford before Barcelona paid the €5m buy-out clause to bring Pique to the Nou Camp.

Since then the defender gone from success to success and has claimed four La Liga titles, two Champions Leagues, a World Cup and European Championship.

The Express are reporting that both United and Chelsea are considering a €30m offer. Louis Van Gaal's problems since taking over at Old Trafford have been largely in defence and Pique has spoken warmly of his time with the Red Devils during the development stages of his career.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is believed to see Pique as a natural successor to John Terry at the heart of the Blues defence.
