Klein Collins vs. Spring

7 p.m. Friday; George Stadium: With two weeks left in the regular season, both of these teams are starting to feel the heat in one of the state's deepest and most talented districts. Second-place Collins (7-1, 4-1 District 15-6A) has one game to play with, but Spring (6-2, 3-2) might not be able to afford another loss. The Lions are in a three-way tie for third place and will face fellow third-place team Klein Oak next week.

North Shore at La Porte

7 p.m. Friday; Bulldog Stadium: Two consecutive victories go a long way in a seven-team district as evenly contested as 21-6A, which is why North Shore (4-4, 3-1 district) and La Porte (5-3, 3-1) are tied for first place. The winner will be alone at the top and will clinch a playoff berth. The loser might have to win in the final week just to get into the postseason. These teams have split their last four meetings.

Cypress Woods vs. Jersey Village

7 p.m. Friday; Pridgeon Stadium: Jersey Village (5-3, 4-3 District 17-6A) won its first three district games but, after losing three of four, finds itself on the outside looking in as far as the playoff picture. Cypress Woods (5-3, 5-2) would be in the same place had it not scored an overtime victory over Cy-Fair last week. Cy Woods has been more consistent than Jersey Village against the top half of the district.

Stratford at Magnolia West

7 p.m. Friday; Mustang Stadium: Stratford (5-3, 5-0 District 19-5A) has recovered nicely from a winless run through non-district play. The Spartans have clinched a playoff berth but can earn at least a share of the district title ahead of next week's showdown with second-place Waller, which lost to Magnolia West (4-4, 3-2) last week. The Mustangs likely need at least one more win to make the playoffs.

Dickinson at Clear Creek

1 p.m. Saturday; CCISD Veterans Memorial Stadium: The winner will be the District 24-5A champion. Clear Creek (6-2, 5-0 district) has been dominant in 24-5A play. Dickinson (8-0, 5-0) is coming off its first difficult game of the season. Dickinson's defense has been good, but the Gators will need to be at their best to slow down Clear Creek's prolific offense.
