Animated films may still be in the nascent stages in India, but that hasn’t stopped director Harry Baweja from presenting a realistic 3D animated film, titled Chaar Sahibzade. The film reveals some intriguing, unknown facts about Sikh history and will be released in Punjabi, Hindi, English, among other Indian and foreign languages. Chaar… has been produced by Baweja Movie Pvt ltd and IREALITIES has animated the film.
Since Chaar… is about the four sons of Shri Guru Gobind Singhji, who was the 10th guru of the Sikhs, the scripting and making of the film was co-ordinated with the team at the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) in order to depict the facts correctly. Chaar Sahibzade may have taken a staggering three and a half years to make, which took a toll on Harry Baweja, but his efforts will finally pay off when it releases on November 6. Harry also worked towards raising the quality of animation and tried to make the characters and the film believable. “To raise the quality of animation and make it on par with international standards, my dad put in 1200 odd hours in the studios, sat with the editors, and perfected the copy,” revealed Baweja’s son, Harman.
While the film is about a Sikh Guru’s sons, Harry Baweja clarifies, “The film is not about a religion, but about a few characters and their story which touched my heart.” Likewise, the makers of Chaar hope their film resonates with the audience, and doesn’t merely attain commercial success. As Harman explained,”I have seen the film and I love it. I don’t expect the movie to mint money, I instead wish the audience accepts the film and appreciates the effort that went into making it. I want the movie to be successful for my dad’s sake as he has put in a lot of effort.”
Chaar’s trailer was launched in the presence of Tabu, Bipasha Basu, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra in Mumbai.
