Regulate health services: DYFI

October 30, 2014 12:48 pm | Updated May 23, 2016 06:46 pm IST - MANGALORE:

Activists of the Democratic Youth Federation of India on Wednesday staged a protest demanding that the State government regulate health services.

Addressing the protesters, president of the Federation of Indian Rationalist Associations, Narendra Nayak said there were days in Mangalore when specialists visited government hospitals and offered free services. The situation had reversed now and doctors now wanted people to move out of government hospitals and they were offering better treatment in private hospitals. The government should regulate operations in government and private hospitals to make healthcare affordable to the people.

DYFI State president Muneer Katipalla said affordable healthcare was among the fundamental right of people as right to water and education.
